_cover.jpg) I almost forgot that I had this single on my computer. This release from Blind Guardian is literally all about their song and famous metal ballad “The Bard’s Song(In the Forest)”. I have to say, I am not the biggest fan of this song, but I liked this single. To a point anyway.
What really struck me as special in this single was the amazing setlist.

WOW! Totally original with as much variety as ever! If you don’t get that I’m being sarcastic yet, you soon should. I didn’t bother to put the specifics of where the live locations were, but it doesn’t matter.
Anyway, the new studio version features a few changes, but they aren’t all that big. If you enjoyed the original, you’ll probably like this one as well. But, it is not the top point of the single.
Next, the live track was, I think, very special, the audience really got into it, clapping the beat, singing almost to perfection, and just having a great time. You can tell there were lots of people present, and it was a nice listen.
The rest of the songs follow suit, Blind Guardian playing their famous song with the crowd singing parts of it, while Hansi fills in his parts. All of the live version have their own special tinge to them, but I didn’t really like how Blind Guardian made a single of only one song.
The main thing I didn’t like about this single was the real lack of variety, because honestly, unless you were present at the concert, or you are a fanatic of “The Bard’s Song” you won’t be really impressed listening to the same thing (or very similar) over and over again. I think the Guardians tried to take this song too far. If the Bard’s Song wasn’t as great a song as it is, this single would have gotten a much lower score. I only really recommend getting this to Blind Guardian fans, people present at the concerts, or collectors.
